Hi All,

I have xp home with sp1 and all the hotfixes for that. No SP2, it makes me
nervous! The problem I am having is the clock (notification area) runs
really slow. I can syncronize it and it sets the correct time. But, if I
am on the computer for a while the time runs slower and slower. And when I
start the computer the time is always wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Alice

Hi,

I doubt your battery in the mother board which keeps the system clock
ticking is weak. You may try changing the same.

If the clock is wrong when powering up it is an indication the CMOS battery
needs replacing. Try that first. If the clock runs slow when powered on try
the following AFTER replacing the battery.
Click start---run--type in CMD.---click OK
type in following commands:
netstop w32time--------hit enter key
w32tm /unregister------hit enter key
w32tm /register--------enter
netstart w32time------------enter
exit -------------enter
