XP "Blinks"

I donate my time to a small group of individuals helping
the homeless... they are all using laptops running
Windows XP. Other than the basic setup, I have no XP
experience. Several of the users say their machines
frequently "blink". The best I can determine is that
minimized windows flash under certain circumstances. I've
not been around enough to determine the cause. Has anyone
experienced this? I use NT4 and ME and have never seen
this... Help?

The only time I see Windows XP blink is during startup when the screen
resolution is changing.

Install Tweak UI for XP. This is part of the Windows XP power tools and can
be obtained from the microsoft website.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp
Once installed, run the program, expand the general option and click on
focus. Here you can instruct Windows how to deal with minimized windows.

IS this is consisten blinking or is it random. Try to
turn down the hardware exceleration. go to display
properties \ settings \ troubleshoot and turn it down a
notch at a time and see if this fixes the issue. Also what
type of laptops are they running? make and model. that
might help
