xp backwards compatibility

we have some power point presentaions created in office
2000 but they will not open in office xp pro. they will
open in 97 and 2003
 
A graphic from desktop PP presentation when copied onto laptop shows up only
as a blank black box.

Several laptops show same problem.

What to do ???

Please provide more information. What version(s) of PowerPoint are you using?
How are you copying the graphic? What type of image is it? Is it a video? On
the laptops, how are you inserting the copy? Do the laptops display the image
in Slide Show mode?

Thanks for your help. I have a series of Powerpoint slide shows with
graphics images from a text publisher. All images show up well on the desk
top computer. When I open the same Powerpoint files from the original CD
on my laptop most images do NOT show up and I have only a black box in their
place. My colleague has the same problem. Both the desk top and lap top
have PowerPoint 2002. Can you help?
