XP Backup

If I backup certain files using Windows XP backup, then install Vista as a
clean install, can I restore the files that were backed up using XP's backup
with the backup program that is in Vista or won't the files be recognised.

Hello , I beleive you can at least Save the IE7 to Desktop without installing
into Windows . If the "certain files " are not within the "Users/Windows"
folder , may be you could . Definatley Diable all of Anti Virus and even
Software Firewall . Leave the Hardware Firewall Enabled .

Vista backup will not recognize the backup files created within Windows XP.
If you want to backup prior to installing Vista, using XP backup to a .zip
file. That is universal.
