XP and Bug Check 0x93

Adrian Brown

Hi,
Ive been having major problems with an install of XP. The machine is an
AMD 2600 with an Asrock K7S41GX motherboard (onboard video/lan/sound etc).
I have this combination in several pc's but no other problems, however this
machine will reset about 3-4 times a day writing a BugCheck 0x93 into the
event log. Ive replaced all hardware components at least 3 times,
reinstalled so many times ive lost count, happened with SP1 and SP2. The
only things on the PC are Windows, Works suite including Word, Anti virus
and printer drivers. Ive tried replacing the printer, but cant find the
cause. Ive run out of ideas on what to try next.

Any help very VERY much appriciated.

Please take a look in Control Panel>Admoinistrative Tools>Event Manager,
click on System and see the more detailed report of what actually happens.
Ignore the information lines and just head for the Wraning or Error messages.
If that doesn't point you to the driver in question, please post back the
details.

Hi Adrian,

What haven't you replaced? The ram? motherboard? cpu?

It sure sounds like a hardware fault. Have you set it to create a minidump?
Have you looked at that yet?

Ive replaced CPU, Ram, Motherboard, Harddrive, CDRom, PSU, Floppy drive, all
at least twice. Ive got minidumps and full memory dumps, ive loaded them
into WinDbg and it gives me back a problem in ntosknl. Ill get the full
details and post them here asap.

Ok, there are a few warnings / errors, the problem is im not sure how these
cause a problem and also what else i could do to resolve them. They are

Disk error - The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk0\D
atapi error - A parity error was detected on \Device\Ide\IdePort0

and the one that causes the reset is

System Error (category 102, ID 1003) - Error code 00000093, par1 0011f0f0,
par2 00000000, par3 00000000, par4 00000000

I do get alot of the other errors, but i have been unable to find out what
is causing it - ive replaced the cd rom drive etc without success.

This is the info back from the minidumps, if i load into windbg i also get

I did - cant remember the exact message but it was an IRQ Not equal or
