I need to log in as the administrator, how do I do this?
The account I use has administrator rights, but I need to
log on as the "administrator"???

ok, if you wish to log in as the Administartor boot into Safe Mode.

For XP Pro, at the Welcome Screen, with no users logged on, press
CTRL-ALT-DEL twice. Enter Administrator and any password that you may have
put on that account during setup. For Home, you need to boot to Safe Mode,
as Chris indicated. The Administrator account will appear on the Welcome
Screen.

Alternative: To enable the Administrator account on the new Windows XP
logon screen, visit my web site, www.dougknox.com and go to the Windows XP
section. Follow the link for Enable Administrator Account ......

This small VB Script will make the registry change necessary for the
Administrator account to be available on the Welcome Screen. If you prefer
to do it manually, click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList\

Note: There is a space between Windows and NT in the above Key.

Add the Administrator account if necessary and/or change the Administrator
value to 1

As above, for XP Home, you can only log into the Administrator account in
Safe Mode.

Hi,

Hit ctrl+alt+delete twice at the Welcome screen to access the older style
logon screen where you can enter "administrator".
