I have an XP that says I have 30 days for activation and when I click on it
it says product is activated. But after restart it requires activation again.

Rich;
Reboot to Safe Mode:
Reboot tapping F8 each second.
Select Safe Mode at the menu

Start/Run
Type "regsvr32.exe regwizc.dll" ENTER
Type "regsvr32.exe licdll.dll" ENTER

Reboot.
Activate again
Reboot

I've tried that too, and it doesn't work for me. was also told to look for
the cryptography\providers keys under hkey_users. can't find them there, the
only key similar us under hkey_local_machine. will deleting that one instead
help? (have 2 copies of registry exported to desktop, just in case)

DO NOT DELETE THE KEY
hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\cryptography\providers
if you do, you create several headaches for yourself and merging the copy of
the registry you exported my not work 100%. just glad there is such a thing
as restore points. (found out the hard way)
