XP 64 Bit: driver for Intel 82801FR SATA AHCI

Armin Maidhof

I would like to evaluate Windows XP Professional x64 Edition RC1, but
whenever I boot from the installation CD I get the message "no
harddisk found". I checked my 32 Bit XP settings and found out, that
it uses an Intel 82801FR SATA AHCI Raid Controller (included in the
chipset 925X) through iastor.sys. Is there a 64 Bit version of this
driver out there? Any help is appreciated.

Kind Regards
Armin

Did you ever find a driver? I'm having the exact same problem on a Dell
Precision 370. I checked the Intel website to find a 64 bit driver with
no luck. I've sent a request for support to Intel and Dell to see if they
have any information. Niether has responded yet.

Hi Armin and Jay,

A quick tip: When you boot up from an install cd and run the Windows with a
SATA HDD, you have to press the F6 key when that it's asked if you need to
install separate SCSI drivers. If you don't, the setup will NOT recognize
your drives, as it doesn't know where to look for it.

Hope this helped you a bit,

Cheers,

Robert

The Prozessor is EMT64.

With the driver from your link
http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df/Detail_Desc.asp?agr=Y&ProductID=961&DwnldID=6364“
and the F6 button I get the message

“The device associated with following device driver will not work
correctly on this computer:/iastor.sys. The device driver is only
compatible with the 32-bit version of Windows. This computer is running
the 64-bit version of Windows. This device driver may be required to
complete Windows setup. Pleas contact the device manufactor to obtain
driver compatible with the 64-bit version of Windows.”

I need the driver for an Intel 82801FR SATA AHCI Controller (included in
the chipset 925X)
