XmlTextWriter and Extended ASCII

Q

qwertie79

I am using XmlTextWriter to extract data into the database. The problem
is that I cannot get XmlTextWriter to support the extended ASCII.
Everytime it runs across an extended ASCII character, the XmlTextWriter
will translate it into '?'.

Is there a way to get around this or am I doing something wrong?
Thank you

You can specify an encoding with one of the constructor overloads of
XmlTextWriter:

XmlTextWriter w = new XmlTextWriter(filePath, System.Text.Encoding.Default);
XmlTextWriter w = new XmlTextWriter(filePath, System.Text.Encoding.UTF8);
etc.

This should give you the right characters.
