XML Syntax

I don't know whether this is an Excel question or an XML question, so I'll ask it both places.

I'm trying to edit a file in Excel 2002 that was created by another program and represented to be in standard XML format. However, Excel will not import it properly. The problem appears to be the use of an XML tag convention that I certainly am not familiar with, but then again I'm an XML newbie. I would appreciate it if someone could take a look at this file and tell me whether this is simply not a standard XML format or whether it is a valid XML format that Excel cannot handle.

Theres nothing wrong with that document - it's valid XML as far as all my
XML editors are concerned.

Maybe I've got a bad downloading of it. It's missing a declaration for the
document type, and isn't properly represented with start and end tags when
I'm looking at it.

Must be! LoL. Sorry if I sounded a bit heavy handed there - email does that.

For what it's worth, Excel 2003 beta 2 is able to open the file and display the structure, alloowing the selection of portions of it as needed....
