xls files

someone sent me an xls file i can open it but not use the spreadsheet,i run xp and dont have excel,how can i do this w/out buying excel?
 
Hi

If you haven't got Excel installed you will only be able to view the file.
You won't be able to edit it.

Or go to www.openoffice.org and get Open Office.

Well with what little experience I've had with it, it seemed to be
OK......and we are talking FREE here......

The Excel viewer is also free.
And since it is a Microsoft Excel product, there will be no flaky
issues at all.

Corel Quattro Pro will open and edit Excel files, it is very
compatible.
