xl start & personal.xls

Help! My computer locked up and upon restart my personal.xls file does
not automatically load with excel even though the file is in the xl
start folder.

Go to the Help menu, choose About Microsoft Excel, then click
the Disabled Items button. If your personal.xls is listed there,
enabled it.

Could be it is "disabled".

See Help>About>Disabled Items.

OR it is being loaded in a hidden condition.

Window>Unhide.
