XL navigation with keystrokes

Help! I simply want to use the keyboard to enter/active
the Formula Bar area so that I can of efficiently edit
imported data. Right now I am clicking on each cell then
clicking in the Formula Bar then using keyboard to make
edits. Very cumbersome

See if the F2 key is any help.

Select the cell and press F2 to edit the cell.
