xcel docs open encoded

By mistake I clicked "yes" when I got that normal template warning and now
all my Xcel files open encoded. I did the above right after I saved a doc in
xcel.

Tried Open and Repair but did not work. Is there any way to fix this? I
tried saving in xcel again and it does the same with anything in xcel.

Thanks for your help.

If your question is about Excel, you need to post in an Excel newsgroup;
this one is for Word.

Sorry. But thanks for that info. Here's another thing. I just tried to
open new pictures that my daughter sent to me and they're encoded too! Could
it be the same thing?

I'll go over to Excel for the other info. Thanks.

What application are you using to open the pictures? To view JPEGs (the
format used for most digital photos), you need a photo editor of some sort;
you can't open them with Word or Excel. If you have Office 2003, you have
Microsoft Office Picture Manager, which will open them. If the pictures were
sent as an attachment to an email, you may be able to see them directly
within your mail client.
