Even better than my X800XL!

I thought the sale ended the 14th, but they show it on the website now. I
picked one up in the store nearby. Get one if you want, before they run out!

Well, you could spend what most want for it, like at TigerDirect ($385) ...

Frankly, the only thing I don't like about the card is the whiny fan. The
Powercolor X800XL flat pack fan whooshes, but is easier on the ears w/ an
open case like the Antec Overture II. The X850XT is now on the DFI in the
Sonata, where it is a bit muffled. No room for Zalman on either, because of
the location of the northbridge. Damn!

I'm using that card now. Got mine for $239 ($189 AR) a couple weeks ago. I
don't like MC rebates though. They've always been slow for me. My fan only
whines for a few seconds on bootup, after that it's pretty quiet. Better
than my x800XL anyway...

Is the x850xt or x850 worth the purshase of that card? i'm using a
x800 video card and would like to know if i will have the double in
fps???

What about Artic Silencer vga coolers? They might work for you.

No, it won't. You should save up for something like X1800 or X1900 if
you already have an X800 generation video card.

Depends on what x800 you're talking about. I run 1680 x 1050 so I need high
res. Plus I want to keep my AGP for awhile so the x850XT is about the best
I'll get for that. At high res, the 850XT runs about 25% or so faster than
the 800XL. More for the 800 Pro. No way I'd pay $500 for an 1800 or 1900
even if I had PCIE. An 850XT for $189 AR is a real value. Plus, I just
bump the 800XL into my kid's computer to replace the 128 MB 6800 NVidia in
it.

Yes, but he asked if it gives double the performance. The fact is, it
doesn't.
