X Axis date

Excel 2000

I have a chart with the dates of the month on the top row. the next two rows have figures that are totalled on the 4th row (two types of the same size product). The fifth and 6th row have data on different sizes product.

DATE 1 2 3 4 5 6 7...
2X8C 2 1 4 5 1
2X8S 1 6 4 1 3
TOT 3 7 8 6 4
2X6 1 1 1 1 1
2X4 2 2 2 2 2

I want the date to show on the X axis and the last 3 rows to be the plot area. I've tried hiding rows 2 and 3, but that didn't work. Any ideas?

TIA,

Assuming your sample data in cells A1:H6

Clear cell A1
Select A1:H1
Hold the Ctrl key, and select A4:H6

Click the Chart Wizard button, and create the chart.
