WXP SP2 malfunctioning or trojan?

Hi there

After a fresh WXP SP2 reinstall on my laptop I still have the following
problem;
When I work with my pc no matter if Word, notepad or any other application,
very
often my mouse starts clicking anywhere out of my control and edits, by
itself,
a range of "o" caracters on my Word/notepad/Internet application.
That happens for about one minut then it stops giving chance to delete all
the
unwanted "ooooo ...." characters and there again after a while.
During this time my laptop noise increases and becomes very slow, as its CPU
reaches 100%.

Of course I have already tried to execute anti-trojans (i.e. Ad-aware),
anti-virus (Norton, TrendMicro), many MS patchs and the Windows Update too but
not result. Although I have formated and reinstalled everything, I still have
that problem.

Does anybody know anything about?

Thank you very much

Ciao

Enrico

Are you using the mouse/touchpad that is built into the laptop, or an
external mouse? I have had that problem with a USB mouse, and if changing
the USB port doesn't work, I have had to replace with a PS/2 mouse. I will
be working along fine and, next thing I know, the mouse is bouncing around
and it is acting like I am pushing the bottun all over my desktop.

In truth, I wish I had never HEARD of SP2. Installed it on 3 different
computers, all running XP Pro with all updates, and it has screwed up every
single one of them. A Dell, a Gateway and an IBM T40. Response from MS is
slow and somewhat automated. Now they want product numbers. I bought XP Pro
so many times in hard copy, licenses, and installed on computers, how on
earth would one remember which is which after so many frustrated reinstalls?

It has slowed the Dell down to the point of tears, and will not now allow me
to help someone remotely, even though I turned on the exceptions and did
everything I could find written for it.

If you haven't installed SP2 yet, don't do it until they work out the bugs
because even if you go back to restore to pre-SP2 installation, it still has
ruined some of your files because I still cannot help the friend that I
helped almost daily.

PHOOEY ON SP2.
