WXP Boot failure

My EMachines T1440 was unplugged after locking up. When plugged back in, the
PC failed to boot up. It makes it to the screen which gives you the option
to boot up with last successful config, safe mode, etc. None of these work.
Restore disk that came with PC will reformat the HD and lose all files. Is
there someway to reach the C: drive without destroying all the data?

Use a dos bootdisk that includes an ntfs reader/writer.
