WTD: some way for built-in cdr burning to zip files automatically

Don Taylor From:

Is there an option somewhere? Is there a cute little script somewhere?
Is there a trick I haven't found with searching?

I back up all the personal documents, 11000+ files, 150+ megabytes,
using the built-in cdr toasting. Dependable, simple, easy.

But looking at the under-side of the cdr shows this is filling up
2/3 or 3/4 of a 700 megabyte cdr, probably because most of the files
are fairly small.

So, if I also want to back up lots more material at the same time on
the same cdr, is there some trick I haven't found that will automate
the zipping of the whole mess into one file just before it puts it on
the cdr?

If I can do that without needing to install another big application
that would be great.

I wonder if it is possible to zip the contents of the temporary folder
where Windows is staging all this stuff without blowing something up.
Or if there is a way to put a cute little script into the right click
menu that does the zip and copy in one step.

thanks

I would suggest investing in a good external backup drive in lieu
of backing up files to a CD. Examples:

Maxtor OneTouch II

Western Digital Dual-Option Media Center
