Wrong name in AntiSpyware warning window.

Dragos CIULICA

Hi! Here's my problem: I have a kit which writes a link in Startup Folder
for All Users. Then, the Microsoft Antispyware triggers and shows a blue
warning window, letting the user know that someone is trying to add that
link. Everything is fine, but sometimes, the name of my program in that
window is wrong!!!! It sais:

Program: t
Path: t

And in other cases, it works fine!

I tried to change the info in exported reources for module name, publisher,
etc ... I even tried to sign that exe with a valid certificate, but I still
get that wrong name! What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,
Dragos.

I don't think we have the resources here to answer your question.

Here's my suggestion.

Use the link here:
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/isv/cdform.aspx

This is the vendor dispute form which, at first glance, doesn't seem
appropriate for your question but: I've been told that this is the route to
take if you wish to have your program listed as a "known spyware free"
program--i.e. get a green pass.

Now, I know you didn't ask to do that, and I also know that there's a lot of
information requested on this form. I'm not sure how this will work out,
but using this form as a vehicle to get in touch with Microsoft and ask your
underlying question is the best suggestion I can come up with. And, who
knows--maybe you can supply enough information to get the green dialog
box--but I suspect you'll need to solve the ID problem first, so I hope this
route will do the job.
