wrong key input

When I type any input in IE 6 I see the wrong characters being entered. THis
includes the address bar, search bar and any input dialogues on any web page.
THis does not happen when using Mozilla Firefox but it does happen when
using MS Word or other MS apps.. What is going on. FOr example, when i
type the 'e' character I see a '.', when I type the 'r' character I see a
'p'. This appears to be hap
 
Have you tried rebooting? I've seen this happen a few times and it always
goes away after a reboot.
