Most likely it's .lnk rather than .ink; as JoAnn told you, you're attaching
a shortcut instead of the document. Try opening the document in Word, then
using File | Send To | Mail Recipient as Attachment. Otherwise, if you're
browsing to it in an Explorer window, make sure you're finding the actual
document (in My Documents or wherever) and not a link to it (in the Recent
Documents folder, for example).
