/wrkgrp switch not working

My short cut property reads:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\MSACCESS.EXE" /wrkgrp
"G:\Workgroups\Project Files\BB_Project.mdw" "G:\Workgroups\Project
Files\BB_Project.mdb"

When the program launches, the login box appears. I log in with a
"read-only" username. But it still allows me to edit data. I looked and
there is a .ldb

Thanks, Bill

There is nothing wrong with the /wrkgrp switch, as your title suggests.

Login as a user with administrative permissions and verify that the
'read-only' user has the correct permissions. Remember that they inherit
the permissions of any group they belong to, and those implicit permissions
are not shown in the dialogs.

The presence of the ldb file is not related to your problem. There will
almost always be a ldb file present when you open a mdb.

I logged on as administrator and verified the permissions. I have set the
"User" group to "Read-Only". The Read-only user is a member only of the
"User" group. Looks to me like everthing is set correctly. Is there
something about the group "User" that doesn't allow me to make it "Read-Only"?

Thanks, Bill

Since you are referring to the 'User' Group, I assume that is a group that
you set up. This user would also be a member of the Users Group - so ensure
that the Users Group doesn't have any permissions on any objects.

I'm unclear on what you mean by 'set the group to read-only'. You need to
set permissions on every object in the database. So what are you setting to
'read-only' . For example the database object doesn't have a read
permission, and neither do forms/reports.

You need to set the permissions on all objects.
