I am trying to create a floppy disk from the microsoft
online crash analysis memory tester. When I insert the
disk in the floppy drive and press create after a short
wait I get a little box that says Device Write Error. I
can find nothing in error messages or in the knowledge
base. The floppy is unlocked. In addition, how do I
slow down the error message display so that it doesn't
appear and go away so fast? Thanks to anyone who can help

Did you format the floppy first?

To stop the BSOD:
"To have time to read the details on the bluescreen you need to turn off
automatic reboot from Control Panel, System, Advanced tab, Startup and
Recovery button. Then when it happens write down the exact error message
which will usually provide at least a hint at the cause. Post back with the
error."

I tried to after your suggestion, but keep getting device
is busy. I rebooted and immediatly tried to format and
still got the device is busy message. Thanks for your
time.

I miss read your earlier response.
There is no blue screen the error message just flashes on
and off and I can cancel the activity that did the
request and go back to normal operation.

I was able to use the same selection on the upstairs
computer and everything went fine and I got the disk
created. So something is tying up the floppy drive on
this computer, I don't know what.

Sorry for the delay. Thanks again.
