Writing a macro

M

Melissa

I would like to create a key combo short-cut for the save
as menu command. I tried to record a macro for it
assiging the keys ctrl+Q to execute it, but I didn't do it
correctly and am not sure how to really accomplish it.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Melissa,

You probably can use F12, or Alt+F, A.

In any case, you don't need a macro. You can assign keyboard shortcuts to
built-in commands directly in "Tools > Customize > Keyboard".

Ctrl+Q is a really useful keyboard shortcut (ResetPara, removes manual
paragraph formatting from the selection).
If you have assigned it to the (non-working) macro, I'd remove the shortcut
(... choose the macro in the dialog, click on the shortcut, and then on the
"Remove" button).

Greetings,

Melissa:
Control+S is standard and built in. It brings up
the "Save As' dialog box.

Hi Bob,

Ctrl+S is "FileSave". It only brings up the "Save As" dialog if it's a new
file without a name.

Klaus
