write-protection

Recently my computer has started intermittently write-protecting my CD-RW
discs. How do I remove the write protect? Can I turn off whatever is
causing the write-protection?

Hi,

What do you mean by "write protecting"? WinXP's native burning engine uses
the ISO9660 format, which doesn't allow for rewriting or editing of existing
data on a CD, it just burns it to disk. For those features, you must use
packet writing (UDF) software. Common ones are DirectCD and InCD. Here is a
link to an explanation of the differences:

Rick,
Thanks for the suggestion. I don't know if I have enough knowledge to
understand what you have told me, but I will give it a try.
