I'm having trouble disabeling the write protection on my files and folders
using windows explorer. I've tried to disable it in the preferences
dialog-box, but when I exit the dialog-box they still are write protected.
Can anyone help me out?

Hi,

By "write protection", do you mean "read only"? If so, then you should know
that attribute on a folder is ignored by the system. What sort of problem
are you having? Write protection is normally imposed by the document
creation program, not a system attribute.

I identified the problem when I was using excel and wanted to save my
document. I wasn't abel to save with a different name than the standard excel
name (untitled 1). I didn't use any of the illegal signs. I don't have that
problem with other programs, as I know of anyway....
