I have Win XP Home SP2. My Write.exe don't work. What can it be? Is it a
missing dll-file?

write.exe is Windows Write included in XP in C:\WINDOWS\system32.
Trying to open it should open Wordpad.exe

Try using Wordpad in the first place. Start\Programs\Accessories\WordPad.

Windows 95/98 Uses Write.exe for Backward Compatibility, so I would assume
that XP also uses it for Backward Compatibility since it was older than dirt
when 95 came out.

No, I have allready done that and it don't help me. Write still don't start.

And write.exe is not going to start. It is never going to start. All
write.exe does in XP is start WordPad.exe.

Try this...
Start | Run | Type: wordpad | Click OK

Does WordPad open?

If that does not open WordPad, try this...

Open Add or Remove Programs...
Start | Run | Type: appwiz.cpl | Click OK |
Click on Add/Remove Windows Components on the left side |
When the Windows Components Wizard opens, click on Accessories and Utilities
| Click the Details button | Click on Accessories | Click the Details
button | Scroll and place a checkmark in the box next to WordPad | OK your
way back out

You may be asked for your XP CD.
