write DVD on my ASUS P4B533-VM MOBO?

Jethro

I have installed Vista Ultimate on my system with a ASUS P4B533-VM
socket 478 MOBO with an Intel 2.4 P4 CPU. The install CD for this
MOBO naturally is for XP.

Vista runs fairly well on this system, but I seem to need some drivers
to suit VISTA for my printers, and my video, and maybe more. In fact
Vista's DVD Maker tells me that I need video drivers.

I have looked and looked, but cannot find what I need. Does anyone
have any information on this subject and where I might find what I
need? Like maybe driver support from ASUS for Vista? Or conversely,
am I barking up the wrong tree with this MOBO?

Thanks

You need drivers from the makers of the printer, video etc. Asus is not
going to be of any help with that. You've just discovered the big
problem with upgrading to vista. Put XP back and wait until summer.

I had already guess as much.

If that mobo has on board graphics you should get the Graphics driver from
Asus or maybe the graphics chipset manufacturer's web site, (Like I did for
my Asus P5B-V mobo)

The printer driver should come from the printer manufacturers web site. (I
take it that you don't have an HP printer!)

That older motherboard may remain unsupported for a long time, if ever.

I tried that - I could find nothing on ASUS's site for driver
downloads that seemed to fit my situation - namely upgrades for Vista.
The P4B533-VM MOBO was listed there though. Did you find a Vista
upgrades for your ASYS P5B-V MOBO on-board graphics? You seem to say
that you did. I am going to look your MOBO up on the ASUS site when I
get a chance to see why you were so lucky.

Thanks for response

Yes I downloaded IntelDisplay714101147_Vista.zip for my Intel g965 chipset.
I had to use the Global server, and even then the connection broke several
times. Luckily Vista would restart the download from the point of faulure.

I think I may have needed it to get Aero running.
