I have multiple programs requiring the reinstallation of Wowexec.exe into the system 32 folder. Any suggestions on how to do this would be greatly appreciated

what happened after you copied the 'wowexec.exe' file from the \dllcache
into \system32... did it simply vanish or something?

the file doesnt exist in the folder. there are only 2 files in that folder
and wowexec isnt one of them

ONLY 2 files in the \dllcache??? that don't sound right to me... there
should be hundreds of files in there, if not more.

assuming your machine is at SP1 level (not SP2RC2), try re-applying service
pack 1 (SP1a), get it from here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/sp1/network.mspx

click on the Go button on the right side of the page under the the section
entitled 'Download Service Pack 1a for ...'

that may repopulate the \dllcache on your machine
