I just recently bought a second computer. I now have 2 windows XP computers
with ethernet adapters. I would like to network them and have no idea on how
to do it. Do i need to buy any extra hardware and if so what? Would greatly
appreciate any help in this matter.

Buy a router. (Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.)

Hook your cable, DSL, etc input to the router's input and each computer's
ethernet input to the router's output. (Instructions come with the router.)
