Our computer used to have McAffe anti-virus, it expired yesterday. When we installed the new anti-virus program, it detected a virus, worm.win32.dabber.a, it has not been able to delete, nor disinfect it. It is in quarantine. It has infected files contained in System 32 and Start up, among other programs.
Do you know of a way to get rid of it? Is there a patch? Do we have to reformat the computer? It has become very slow, and it is brand new!!
Thank you for your help.
We really appreciate it.

Is your AV Program telling you it can't delete it? Did you try turning off
System Restore? Where is the infected file located? C:\........System
Volume Information? That would be your System Restore. Which means
Restore is protecting the infected file.
