Do you have Norton AV or Norton IS?
If only AV install a firewall, if IS you need to check logs and reconfigure

any suggestion on the prevention of this worm?

This worm exploits a vulnerability in Internet Explorer. A patch has been
released. You need to visit http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and and get
your system up to date.

....and also this worm exploits DCOM and lsass vulnerabilities. This means
that just by being connected to the internet without a firewall or router
will get your machine infected over and over again. It proablty has noting
to do with surfing the net. Patches have been released. You need to visit
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and and get your system up to date. Just
in case of future virus attack, it is a good idea to have a router so that
incoming connection attempts are directed away from your machine.
