Here they are, according to a recent survey:

1. Eiffel Tower, Paris

2. St Peter's Basilica, Rome

3. Taj Mahal, Agra, India

4. The Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco

5. Empire State Building, New York

6. Statue of Liberty, New York

7. Sydney Opera House

8. Sagrada Familia (Gaudi-designed church masterpiece) Barcelona

9. The Acropolis, Athens

10. Christ the Redeemer, Rio de Janeiro

11. Big Ben, London

12. The London Eye

I know them all except numbers 2 and 10, I have not a clue what they look like.

How odd :)

Full story: Here

So which ones don't you know?

Hmmm.... I can make a mental picture of all but the Barcelona church.

I'm surprised that the London Eye made the list as there are now lots of other Eyes around the world.

Also surprised that the Pyramids didn't make the list. Or St. Basil's in Moscow.

Ah, I've actually been there and seen it so that's how I knew but I would agree, it isn't that iconic.

Me too, it's just a big wheel, after all. I can see the London Eye from me patio. And to it's left, St Thomas' Hospital with which I am quite familiar.

Me too, about the pyramids but I have not a clue about St Basils in Moscow

Aye number 8 for me too.

I also agree that there are loads that could have been added like th pyramids? Surely they attract hundreds of thousands of people every year still?

I didn't know #8 (Sagrada Familia) either, but I've been to Barcelona, so perhaps I just forgot it .

Like you say Capt. Zed, there are loads of places I would have thought would be on that list.

For that, Master rip, go and stand in the waste paper basket in the corner of the classroom for 15 minutes.
