Workstation Renaming

Hmmm. Can I remotely rename a workstation (W2KPro or WXPPro) in an NT4
Domain? Or do I have to touch the machine and go through several re-boots?

We are also migrating to an AD Domain... So, would it be easier if I waited
until after all the machines were migrated?

My company wants to change their workstation naming algorithm..

You must physically go there (AD or not AD). There is only one reboot.

If I physically went to the machine, I would'nt have to remove the
workstation from the domain, rename, then rejoin the domain?

I don't believe so. Membership is maintained by the SID and that wouldn't
change.
