Worksheet Menu Bar disappeared

Worksheet Menu Bar on all of my spreadsheets not longer shown on pre-existing
worksheets, but does if I create a new one. The option is selected under
options, and if I go to Customize/Toolbars, the Worksheet Menu Bar is
checked. If I uncheck it, the bar reappears at the bottom of the sheet with
the names of my two worksheets, but I am unable to retain the setting. A
search on this site recommended entering "Application.Commandbars(1).Enabled
= True" on a VB screen that I had no idea that existed. I hit the enter key,
the menu on top expanded, but not the Worksheet Menu Bar.

Hi Chevy05

Try this

Maybe you have a corrupt or bloated xlb file *normal* size is < 30 kb.
The .xlb file has all Toolbar customization in it.

1. Close Excel
2. Do a search for .xlb in Windows (Use: search hidden files and folders)
3. Rename or delete the .xlb file or files (In 2002 the name = Excel10.xlb)
4. Start Excel

Deleting the file or renaming will do no harm to your system
Excel will create a new file for you.
(You lost your customization remember that)
If you make your own toolbars or add buttons to the others
this file is important (backup it so you can restore it)

The Worksheet Menu Bar is the one with File, Edit, View etc. at top of
worksheet.

The bottom bar with Sheet Tabs is Tools>Options>View>"Sheet Tabs" bar.

Which one is missing?

Maybe you are in View>Full Screen mode which can hide the Sheet Tabs bar.

"The bottom bar with Sheet Tabs is Tools>Options>View>"Sheet Tabs" bar." It
is the Sheet Tabs Bar. My fault. I renamed the EXCEL10.XLB file with no
luck. If I select Full Screen, I lose the tool bars on top of course, but no
Sheet Tabs at first, but when I switched back and forth between standard and
full view several times, the Sheet Tabs bar came back, and seems to be
working. I recall that Office 2000 had a normal.dot file that seemed to get
corrupted and cause problems, but I am unfamiliar what that file was for.
Would normal.dot also cause this issue? I won't do anything more unless the
problem developes again of course. Thanks for the assistance.

Excel10.xlb is the Excel equivalent(sort of) of Word's Normal.dot

If you have already renamed it, Excel will build a new one after opening and
closing Excel.

I find that when I go to Full Screen, the worksheet tabs bar slides down and
depending upon window size, can go out of sight.

But I have nothing else for now.
