Works Suite 2000 files (.wks) in Excel

I have Works suite 2000 files with extension .wks I would
like to open in Excel.

Is there a converter for this or someother procedure.

Thank you for the information this confirms what I have
been reading. I wonder way there is no converter for
excel when there is a converter for word 2000 for works
2000 .wps files?

I admit to greater surprise as to why Excel won't open the Works
format. It opens Works 2.0 but that's as far as it goes.
