Working with lists

Hi,
I was wondering if there's a way to flatten the following list and transfer
it to excel.
I have the following list in ms word:
I Item 1
1 SubItem
a SubItem
II Item 2
1 SubItem
a SubItem
I would like to move this list to excel and get something like this:
Item 1 SubItem SubItem
Item 2 SubItem SubItem

I got kinda lost here, I was looking for a special program that would work
with lists and do something, but could come up with any solution.

Thanks in advance for help,
ArthurN

select the text ( ms word )
go to table | convert | text to table | number of columns = 3 | click
ok |

Unfortunately this doesn't work, afterall...
I Item 1
1 Subitem 1
a subsubitem 1
2 Subitem 2
3 Subitem 3
a subsubitem 3
b subsubitem 3
II Item 2
1 Subitem 2

It should look like this:
Item 1 Subitem 1 subsubitem 1
Item 1 Subitem 2
Item 1 Subitem 3 subsubitem 3
Item 1 subitem 3 subsubitem 3
Item 2 subitme 2

But, following the method above, everything gets mixed up
