"Working Offline..." But Not Really

We have about 25 XP workstations in our office and several servers.
Everything has been acting fine but, all of a sudden, I started having one
workstation tell me it was "Working Offline." The problem is, it's
technically not. It can access the internet. It can access each and every
server by UNC paths. There's just one share on one server - that we have
mapped on every machine as a drive letter - on which this particular
workstation can't see anything - files or folders. The other workstations
are fine. The user has proper rights to the share and I've tried system
restore (which failed miserably - again). Can anyone think of something I
might be missing? Many thanks!

I would suspect an update for that system that activaed the "Windows
Firewall' service

Well, we have Windows Firewall enabled on all of our machines...it's never
presented a problem before. I'll look further into that, though...many
thanks!

It actually turned out that one of the Ethernet cables going to the "offline"
server in question had the tiniest of cuts in it. Once we replaced it, two
out of the three machines with which we were having issues were fine. (The
other needed to have its' Offline Files configuration reset for one reason or
another.)
