Workgroups, domains, and multiple domains

Suzanne Rogers

What type of businesses, corporations or companies are there for each of
these configurations? What might be the name of some companies or
corporations that go under the domain classification? What would an online
business be called-domain or multiple doamin? I would like more
clarification on the network structure of computers linked to businesses,
companies and corporations.

I don't understand your first sentence. A workgroup is a group of
computers on a peer-to-peer network. There is no server, all the
computers are equals. You can have a Workgroup with a home network or a
small business network.

A domain is a network consisting of at least one machine running a
server operating system with some amount of workstations being members
of the domain. Depending on the size of the network, you might have
separate servers doing different jobs (DNS, file server, application
server, etc.).

Make use of Google:

Why can't you ask your teacher/instructor about any concepts that your
text books don't make clear?
