Workbook not shared but experiencing sharing problem

I have several workbooks that are located on my local drive and have never
been shared. After working on them while not connected to my company
network, then working on them connected to my company network, I suddenly
began getting Read-Only messages when I open my files. The user specified as
having already opened the file is me ! The Shared Workbook feature is dimmed
too.

Can't find anything in TechNet. Has anyone seen this before?
