Greetings,

I am using a large workbook with Excel 2000 that was
created using an earlier version of Excel. I
cannot "group" rows and columns, nor can I apply
the "comma" style from by toolbar (I get: Style comma not
found). Is there any way I can update this workbook?

Thank you,
C. Carr

I've never encountered this and I'd love to see this workbook. What happens
after you use Save As and change its file format to "Excel Workbook"?

"cannot" group means what?

Error message? Nothing? Please detail a bit more.

Have you checked under Format>Styles>Style Name to see if there is a "comma"
style?

You can always create one.

My guesses...

#1. Is the worksheet protected? Do you have multiple worksheets grouped?

#2. Some way the comma style got deleted

Start a new workbook.
go back to your workbook (with the problem)

Format|Style|Merge
Point at that new workbook
Ok
Ok
(remember to save your workbook or you'll be doing this again.)

(Some how that style got deleted and you just added (merged) it back in.)

Merging the style from one workbook to another was the
exact solution I was looking for.

Thank you Dave!
