work offline problem

without me clicking on "work offline" under the file
menu, my internet connection using a cable modem will not
work and I will be diredted thru a dialog box tfor a
telephone connection which I do not have ..any ideas on
how to stop this..I usually just go to "work offline" and
click to undo it but this happens frequently.

Internet Options> Default
Check the box to never dial a connection.
