Work Group

Hello, I have set up a small number of P/C's at my home and networked those
P/C's together. My set up is that I have a cable modem connected to a
LinkSys router and all the p/c's connected. Each P/C is running Windows
XP. I have run the "Set up a Home or Small Office Network" for each P/C on
the network and assigned a common name for the workgroup to each P/C. On
Each P/C I have gone in to the "c" drive and set the folder(s) that I
wanted to share.

Now when I go to my network places and click on my work group, I can see
all of the P/C's in my workgroup, but when I click on each p/c to ensure
that I can get to the shared drive, I get the following error message "The
P/C is not accessible. You might not have permission to this network
resource.Check with your adminstrator....." Then it says "Network path not
found". Where do I go from here to be able to look at each of the drives
and printers on my shared network?

Thanks in advance for your assitance!!!!!!

1) Insure the ICF (Windows Firewall) is either not enabled or properly
configured on each machine for file/printer sharing.

2) Insure each PC you are trying to connect to has the same
username/password as the machine you are trying to connect from at least
installed and that user has the permissions needed to access said share.

This article may help you configure the firewall if it is on to allow file
and/or print sharing:
