I am trying to use Word2000 built in HTML editor which seems to be a good tool.
However when I open and existing HTML file made with NotePad, the Word HTML automatically inserts a lot of tags of its own - how do I set it so that it shows the sourse as is?

There really isn't a way to get Word to not insert its own tags. See
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/SaveAsWebWithoutXML.htm for some options
that remove these extra tags from the HTML after its been generated and
the file has been saved.

You seem to be familiar with this program. Two further questions:
1. For the moment I have to open Word window then from within the Word to
launch the HTML editor. And I have to keep the Word open, as closing it,
causes the HTML editior to close too.
Is it possible to have just HTML editor without the Word window?

2. For the moment the words are not wrapped. How do I turn "word wrap" on?

It isn't possible to just launch Word's HTML editor without starting Word.

The only way I've found to have word word wrap is to type directly into the
MS Word document window, instead of viewing the source and typing more text
in that window.
