Suddenly Windows Mail has turned off word wrap. I can find nothing in the
help file for fixing this in Windows mail. Anyone know where it is?

Tools | Options | Send | Plain Text Settings

is what you probably want.

Thanks. I found the setting and it is set to 76 characters, but when I
compose it just continues for hundreds of characters and adds the scroll bar
at the bottom. Maybe a reboot will reset it ( I hope :-) )

If a reboot doesn't work, try a power down. It seems that sometimes the RAM
may not flush completely during a reboot, leaving information that can cause
the problem to linger. I have seen this on a few computers that were later
identified as having "capacitor" problems on the motherboard.

I notice my new machine has a green light on the back that stays on for few
seconds even with the power lead removed - I think it is there to tell you
when the machine is totally exhausted, so you can reset it without retaining
some gremlims

JethroUK,

Is that little green light next to the Ethernet port? If yes, that is
normal.

Sometimes the utterly simple tricks work wonders.

BTW: If you have a printer that is mis-behaving (items stuck in the print
cache etc.) do the same thing. It usually works.
