word will not display document due to insufficent memory or disk .

small text files will not display due to insufficent memory or disk space.
files are no bigger than 45kb, no pictures and just ordinary font.
 
thanks for your reply but i seem to have 484 temp files. is this alot or is
it normal am i ok to delete them all. thanks in advance.

THAT is a lot! No wonder you're having memory problems!

Since you haven't been regularly clearing that...you might want to
just move them all out for now to another folder until you can take
time to sort through and make sure there's nothing in there you might
want. Most will be garbage files, but since email attachments can end
up in there...some you might want could be in there.

That is alot temp files. See http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=211632
"Description of how Word creates temporary files" for a list temporary
Word files that can be safely deleted, because Word should have deleted
those automatically when you closed the related Word document or when
you exited Word. You can also delete .doc and .dot files with filenames
that begin with ~$ , because those are leftover "owner" files that Word
should have deleted automatically.
