word should include the option for number of pages in a section

When producing mulitple section documents with cover pages I find it
necessary to discount the first two, and sometimes the last few, pages.

There is currently no simple provision (as far as I am aware) to set the
total number of pages in a section (or sections) of a document automatically.

The SectionPages field will display the number of pages in the current section.

In order to add all these up (to get a total number of pages for the document,
just from these sections), you'd have to
- insert SectionPages in the document text, in each section
- select and bookmark it
- format it as hidden or white or very small
- create a calculation field { = } that references and adds all the
bookmarks
