Hi Everyone

Everytime I press the the save button I get the Save as screen and I have to
choose the file location and file name from the beginning. Does anyone have
any idea how to solve this problem?

The first time you save a document, you have to do that.

Thereafter, why not just type Ctrl-S every few minutes?

I don't think I've ever tried clicking the Save button; maybe you can
Customize your toolbar to have a plain Save button instead of a Save
As button? (I was very happy to find that I could change my Print
button -- which automatically sent an entire document to the default
printer -- to an identical-looking Print button that instead opens the
Print dialog as if I'd typed Ctrl-P. So maybe someone at some point
changed your Save button to a Save As button.)

Hi

Thank you for your response. First of all I use Word2007 and Windows XP and
as I said before everytime I press the Save button while pressing the big
Office Button or type Ctrl+S (I have already given the file a name and saved
the document in the location I want) I keep getting the Save As screen. Word
also changes the file name to wrl*.tmp (I see the name changing in the top
bar) and trying to save the file in the temporary folder. I don't understand
why is this happening. It is very annoying to write the name and specify the
location everytime I make a change into my file. I hope I have clarified a
bit my situation. Thanks again for your time.
