Word Perfect 10

I have word perfect 10 on my new xp computer. ..I want a program that is
compatable with microsoft word without the expense. Does someone know where
on the internet I can get a compatable program that I can read my old
microsoft word letters.

I was under the impression that you can read MS Word doc files in
WP10, just change the file type when opening a doc.
